The team at Six Consulting is committed to giving back to the community. Over the years, the management and team members have supported causes that resonate with our policy of staying connected.

In 2019, as part of our promise to strengthen our commitment to our community, Six Consulting announced the selection of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives: Promoting STEM Education and Cancer Research in Canines.

Six Consulting   - Company donated 5k for Shine On Project: cancer research in canines led by nationally-renowned veterinarian Dr. Jaime Modiano. Revolutionary medicine to kill canine cancer tumor cells before formation.

  - With nonprofit partner, PowerMyLearning of Greater Atlanta, the company will give cash donation and employee resources to underserved schools through STEM education programs and college readiness technology training.

Six Consulting Inc. recently announced its new corporate social responsibility initiative contributing to the long-term health of canines – specifically golden retrievers - through innovative cancer prevention medicine. A national survey found that 60% of all Golden Retrievers will die from cancer – one out of five retrievers in the United States will die from a particular cancer called hemangiosarcoma. “The goal is to eliminate the fear a canine cancer diagnosis brings, and Six Consulting proactively gives to not only understand its cause but ultimately find effective strategies for preventing and curing cancer,” said Parth Patel, CEO at Six.

Equally, Six Consulting has committed its CSR initiative to children receiving quality STEM education.  According to the US Department of Commerce, 6.1% of the US workforce is in STEM-related jobs and the rate is expected to double by 2024. Six Consulting has partnered with PowerMyLearning Greater Atlanta, an education nonprofit, that strengthens learning through a triangle of strong relationships between students, teachers, and families. The partnership will help students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families to bridge the digital divide.

“Corporate partnership with Six Consulting is vital for PowerMyLearning's initiatives especially expanding student's technology industry knowledge and equipping them with a personal laptop complete with learning software so they strengthen the home to school connection,” said Richard Hicks, Executive Director at PowerMyLearning.

PowerMyLearning programs are focused on both student and family-centric training. Six Consulting executives and employees have pledged their support to make sure every child alongside their families have access to 21st-century learning and quality STEM education.

“Education is the equalizer for all students. Six Consulting is proud to partner with PowerMyLearning to provide educational technology devices and high-quality STEM training so children can build their skills and be industry leaders,” Parth said.

“Because Six Consulting is vested in the community, we have an obligation to give back to society. By aligning our social responsibility efforts with valuable partners, we aim to make an impactful change on helping canines defeat cancer as well as ensure children in underserved schools receive quality STEM education,” Parth summarized.

About Shine On Project

The Shine On project, led by Dr. Jaime Modiano at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, is designed to detect hemangiosarcoma cells in the blood at their earliest onset, and guide treatment with a new, targeted drug. This drug, called eBAT, was developed at the University of Minnesota with the goal to kill cells that are responsible for tumor formation, therefore arresting cancers before they start. This is the first-ever rationally designed approach to prevent cancer in dogs. https://z.umn.edu/ShineOn
